(New York, NY – September 11, 2012) Computer Generated Solutions (CGS), a leading global provider of technology solutions, announced today that President and CEO Phil Friedman will be the guest speaker at NYU-Poly’s NYC/NJ Alumni Gathering on September 20th at the Bern Dibner Library of Science and Technology.
Friedman will speak about “The Anatomy of an Entrepreneur” and tell his inspiring story of how he came to this country with nothing and started a business in 1984. A business that has developed into a successful global technology services and software company with nearly 5,000 professionals in over 40 countries around the world.
“I am very honored to have this opportunity to share my story with the alumni of Polytechnic Institute of New York University,” said Friedman. “I look forward to sharing, with the many graduates of this esteemed university, my insight and expertise on the entrepreneurial ideals that continue to shape my experiences in business, a topic that I am very passionate about.”
Under Friedman’s leadership, CGS has expanded through both organic growth as well as the successful integration of several acquisitions. He will share his learnings and insights on the topics of entrepreneurship, risk-taking, management and leadership, politics, and technology.
In 2007 Friedman was awarded the Ellis Island Medal of Honor. In 2007 and 2008 he was appointed to represent the State of New York on the Presidential Business Commission and to serve as an Honorary Chairman on the National Business Advisory Council. In 2011, he received an Honorary Doctorate Degree from Yeshiva University. He currently serves on the Board of Yeshiva University and is the current Chairman of the Finance Committee and the Treasurer of the University.
