August 22, 2012 by Ben Hanson in Press release with

ecVision Logo(ISELIN, NJ, August 20, 2012) ecVision, a leading provider of cloud-based supply chain collaboration platforms for brands and retailers, rolled-out greater functionality for international logistics booking and tracking. ecVision Suite’s capabilities in the Global Logistics Module allow importers to directly book shipments with carriers through integration to external systems. The enhancements in the latest release include Importer Security Filing (ISF) functionality creating a single platform for booking and tracking shipments, in addition to streamlining the U.S. Customs entry process.

The ISF regulation, more commonly referred to as “10+2” requires submission of an electronic filing to U.S. Customs (10 data elements by importers, plus 2 by carriers) 24 hours before shipment loading.

Enforcement of the regulation, which began January 26, 2010, may result in stiff penalties for non-compliance ($5,000 per incident, plus cargo delays). The Importer Security Filing and Additional Carrier Requirements apply to import cargo arriving to the United States by vessel. The information submitted in Importer Security Filings improves U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s ability to identify high-risk shipments in order to prevent smuggling and ensure cargo safety and security.

“After extensively collaborating with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection and to establish the secure, dedicated hardware connection from our data center in the U.S., our customers can now submit their filings through ecVision Suite™ directly to CBP. This not only streamlines the filing process but helps to lower the potential for monetary penalties, minimize exposure to product and shipment inspections and/or delay of cargo by ensuring improved filing and accuracy of their data,” said Gary Barraco, Director of Product Marketing.

Within the ISF+2 Filing Functionality, ecVision Suite customers can create new ISFs, validate and append data, enter HTS codes and submit their filings directly to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection. To learn more please contact us at us-marketing@ecvision.com or visit www.ecvision.com.
