ACERBIS accelerates product development with TXT PLM

ACERBIS, the renowned Italian brand of motorbike clothing, accessories and sportswear has selected the TXT PLM solution (Product Lifecycle Management) by TXT Retail to streamline design and development of all its apparel products.

Started in 1973 as a producer of plastic materials and protection accessories for motorbikes, the group has soon extended its operations to motorbike sportswear and accessories (helmets, jackets, t-shirts, gloves, bags, footwear) as well as to football clothing, with several international clubs wearing their uniforms. With two production sites in Italy and Czech Republic, and a large direct and indirect distribution network, ACERBIS sells its products in the five continents.

“In 1995, we started to produce technical clothing and accessories for motorbikers. In 2005, we extended our production to football clothing,” explains Michela Acerbis, Director of Marketing and Communications at ACERBIS. “With our sportswear business growing at fast pace, TXT PLM will help us rationalize and speed up collection development but also to build ever tighter synergies among the motorbike and football lines, for example standardizing procedures and providing full visibility over materials and suppliers to optimize buying across all collections”.

TXT PLM will help ACERBIS centralize all product data, from technical drawings, colors, size specs, bill of materials, as well as sampling and production technical worksheets, costs and suppliers information. The solution will help streamline the collection workflow, increasing visibility at each step and simplifying collaboration among all functions involved.

“We chose TXT for the advanced functional coverage of the solution which fully meets our needs and for the simplicity of the user interface. We also valued TXT Retail experience in the apparel industry and in sportswear specifically, which means they can bring into their projects a strong combination of technology and process best practices,” added Michela Acerbis.

“ACERBIS’ ‘soul & passion’ – as their motto resonates – are well visible in everything they do, from their fine design capabilities, to the selection of the highest quality materials and technical standards in production,” comments Simone Pozzi, CEO of TXT Retail. “We are proud to accompany the company as they further grow their sportswear business. The flexibility of TXT PLM makes it a perfect fit for companies with high innovation rates and a multi-category business such as ACERBIS”.

ACERBIS will be guided by the TXT AgileFit deployment methodology, which accelerates deployment and time to benefits thanks to reference processes and a fully documented, optimized solution framework.
