In operation for more than thirty years and with 5,200 employees on its payroll, Computer Generated Solutions, Inc (hereafter CGS) produces a host of enterprise solutions, including the BlueCherry Enterprise Suite. The Suite contains a collection of tools – including product development, management, planning, logistics and sales – designed to support, as the vendor puts it, “high-growth organisations operating in the consumer lifestyle products and retail industries”.

Although the WhichPLM evaluation team’s brief only extended to the PLM portion of the BlueCherry Suite, feedback from the wider industry (and our conversations with reference customers) suggests that the vendor does have a complete end-to-end offering – from planning, product design and development, right through to purchase order management and Enterprise Resource Planning capabilities.

From a purely functional point of view, this makes the BlueCherry Suite an attractive prospect for the right kind of customer: one looking for an entry point into an enterprise level platform that can eventually grow to cater for their entire end-to-end process.

New for 2020, we’ve launched our PLM comparison tool. Although each evaluation is freely available, until now there was no easy-access way of quickly comparing those evaluated…
