(Cologne, Germany, 2018-08-30) – “For the transition from analogue to digital product development, the industry calls for perfect, digital simulations of physical objects”, states Gerd Müller-Thomkins, CEO at Deutsches Mode-Institut.
In order to be able to provide the best service, ColorDigital, the provider of the DMIx® Cloud, along with X-Rite Pantone have decided upon a continuous workflow cooperation.
The DMIx® Cloud offers a standardised environment, in which all digital data required for the supply chain can be exchanged. Precise colours, complex surfaces and individual 3D shapes are key elements of the interactive product management in the cloud. In doing so, the integral acquisition and realistic representation of all objects by TAC – Total Appearance Capture technology from X-Rite-Pantone was declared as a crucial basis of the successful virtualisation.
The integration of the TAC ecosystem into the DMIx® Cloud is being presented for the first time in an exclusive special exhibition – “Digital Textile Connection”, accompanied by leading industry partners at the MUNICH FABRIC START trade fair (04.-06.09.2018)
“For the first time, TAC technology guarantees us the physically accurate transfer of product samples of any type to the digital world of the DMIx® Cloud. This is a real added value for the Design, Product Development and Logistics departments, with our customers in the fashion and lifestyle sectors reaping the benefits”, explains Gerd Willschütz, CEO at ColorDigital GmbH.
