“Speed to Market” – from initial sketch to factory without leaving Adobe Illustrator!

(CARDIFF, 10 OCTOBER 2011) DeSL announces the release of its updated Adobe Illustrator Integration application.

The ‘plug in’ has been further extended to enable designers to request samples from their nominated vendors, in real time, directly from their Adobe Illustrator workspace.

This is in addition to the existing function which enables users of Illustrator to:

  1. Create and update any library products such as styles, fabrics,  trims, CAD’s etc
  2. Automatically manage images and create JPEG’s.
  3. Automatically link images to products, tech packs and sample requests etc.
  4. Create and update style BOM’s, including construction details and graded specs.

The Adobe Illustrator plug in delivers real time, bi directional, integration with DeSL’s PLM solution.

Colin Marks, DeSL CEO, states “put quite simply, our Illustrator Integration enables designers to perform all their PLM tasks without having to leave Illustrator. We also remove ALL current manual tasks such as creating JPEG’s and uploading these to folders and products. We are able to reduce the time taken to manage images, create products, update tech packs and request samples. There are marked productivity gains, quality improvements and increased speed to market.

Designers don’t even know that they are using a PLM system – we enable them to focus on being creative and let the system handle all their manual and non design related tasks. In today’s current economic climate it is vital that every element of cost is controlled and that people focus on doing what they are being paid to do. Having a solution which takes an initial sketch and having this flow right through to the factory, in a systematic manner, without the user even leaving Illustrator is a huge time and cost saver.

The product is cross platform running on PC and Mac versions of Illustrator working with CS3, CS4 and CS5. We can also integrate to existing applications and multiple databases”.
