Indie fashion technology comparison website to launch the first industry-wide PLM customer survey
(MANCHESTER, UK, MARCH 08, 2010) Next week, fashion PLM comparison website, WhichPLM (www.whichplm.com) is launching the industry’s first independent PLM customer satisfaction survey.
Some of the world’s top fashion brands: Gucci Group, Adidas, Liz Claiborne, Hugo Boss, Benetton, Timberland and Abercrombie & Fitch, have selected PLM solutions to cut product development costs, save time and provide global visibility of products. The PLM Customer Survey, for all existing and recent fashion/retail customers of PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) solutions, will probe what’s going on in the industry and find out if the 60 PLM solution providers for fashion are measuring up to industry expectations. The findings from the survey will also provide a real ground-level view of what customers want in terms of future development.
PLM for fashion?
Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), as a concept, grew from the aerospace and automotive industries more than 20 years ago, but many of the current PLM solutions for fashion stem from these more engineering-focused companies. One of the aims of the PLM Customer Survey is to find out how they are faring with implementing software and rationalising processes in the fashion sector, where the language and mix of products are so wildly different. Can the concept of PLM for one industry transfer easily to another? WhichPLM will find out!
The team behind WhichPLM are industry experts, focused on evaluating PLM for the fashion/retail industries to help customers to find the right solution, first time. Several PLM solution providers have been put through their paces by WhichPLM experts over the past two years and this has gone a long way to help customers select the right PLM solution fit without the hassle of individually assessing every solution on the market.
With the PLM Customer Survey, WhichPLM is ideally positioned as an independent body to find out what the top-performing solutions are, if they are satisfying customer expectations on-time and within budget and use the findings to drive solution providers to make necessary improvements.
