Technically Glitched: A Woman’s API Between Style and Substance

Lucy is no stranger to barriers, moving from one industry to another, and realising that she’s still very much so in a man’s world. However, barriers are there to be pole-vaulted over, and in this talk, Lucy Blackley of Bombyx PLM will talk about exactly that, as well as her transition from tailoring clothes to tailoring software in today’s world and leading with feeling.

  • Transitioning from one mans world, (fashion – yes, that’s right), and into another (tech) that is even more so.
  • Product Lifecycle Management software, what it is, who it’s for, and why Bombyx PLM is disrupting this ‘niche’ industry.
  • The imposter syndrome that comes with switching it up for another industry as a woman, despite still being connected to her previous line of work.
  • Learning about herself through her career shift, and deciding to go against the grain in leadership, saying no to ‘alpha culture’ and leading with feeling.
