PTC FlexPLM 11 Provides Next Generation Capabilities That Extend the Core PLM Solution and Enable Retailers to Transform Their Business in the Internet of Things Era
NEEDHAM, MA – April 28, 2016 –– PTC (NASDAQ: PTC) today announced the availability of PTC FlexPLM® 11, the latest version of its product lifecycle management (PLM) solution for retail, fashion, footwear, apparel, and consumer products. The release provides visibility and connectivity across consumers, products, stores, designers, and supply chains, enabling closed-loop product lifecycle management with such new features as role-based apps and ThingWorx® platform connectivity.
More than 150 retail brand owners and over 79,000 users have already implemented the PTC FlexPLM solution to create and collaborate more easily, streamline supply chains, and deliver more inspired and on-trend products to market. IDC Corporation also has recognized and named PTC as a leader in the retail PLM industry in its 2016 PLM vendor assessment report. “The bar has been reset for excellence in retail brand product innovation and PLM platforms,” said Leslie Hand, vice president, IDC Retail Insights.
PTC’s retail PLM solution offers industry-leading retail-ready capabilities. PTC FlexPLM 11 offers sleek, connected, and oh-so-smart features that address a variety of organizational needs, from merchandising, line planning, and product development to sourcing, costing, quality, compliance, and supply chain collaboration. Designed for retail’s precise needs, PTC FlexPLM enables retailers to achieve faster time-to-value and develop more innovative and profitable products.
PTC FlexPLM 11 is a foundational release that provides Role-Based Apps and other design tools to increase productivity. Role-Based Apps improve the user experience by getting the right product data and on-point features to more stakeholders—faster, easier, and in context with the work they do every day. Future planned FlexPLM releases include a continuous stream of app releases, starting with the Tech Pack Apps and Adobe Illustrator (AI) Design Tools, which are expected to become available in the summer of 2016.
PTC FlexPLM 11 features a new Freeze Panes function that provides an optimized view of the line sheet and supports locking columns and column headers for easier viewing when selecting, sorting, filtering, and displaying information, as well as performing mass edits.
PTC FlexPLM 11 is enabled by ThingWorx® technology to integrate data from physical products, web-based resources, and enterprise software systems to deliver unparalleled access, insight, and value in a modern and easily consumable user experience. ThingWorx connectivity allows companies to build applications that connect, store, and relate the activities and data from people, systems, and things. Processes, supply chains, costs, and timelines keep data focused and on point and enable better decision making, which means getting to market faster, and with greater quality.
PTC FlexPLM 11 also delivers RESTful Web Services, enabling PTC partners and customers to use the following new capabilities:
- Integration to third-party clients
- Retail solutions for connected store management (CSM)
- Integration to external systems, such as ERP and planning
- Data extraction
Powerful IoT intelligence drives PTC FlexPLM 11 for constant communication with the product and a dynamic flow of information across product lifecycles. Integration with the Performance Advisor for PTC Windchill, a dashboard for monitoring and managing hardware and software performance, enables administrators to remotely review customer environments and then optimize system performance, increase the productivity of end users globally, and decrease overall IT support costs. The new release also includes a variety of help-center enhancements, such as calendars, property settings, and REST API documentation.
The Perfect Fit for Any Size
PTC offers a variety of deployment options – from SaaS in the cloud to on-premise solutions, and from perpetual to subscription license models. Value-Ready Deployment™ (VRD) services are offered from PTC Global Services or through a network of consultants and partners.
