PTC and Device Authority to Deliver Secure Solutions for Smart Factories

Visit Booth 208 at IoT Tech Expo on January 23-24 to see IoT security demos including a smart factory and medical device

LONDON, UK and FREMONT, USA – January 18, 2017 – Device Authority, a global leader in policy and device-driven security automation for the Internet of Things (IoT), has today announced its involvement with two major smart manufacturing facilities in the UK and Europe, utilizing PTC’s ThingWorx and Kepware technologies.

Device Authority has been working with their partner PTC on a Secure Smart Factory Demonstrator at the European 4.0 Transformation Centre (E4TC) in Aachen, Germany. The latest release includes an MQTT Device Agent, which allows PTC to build security into an existing ThingWorx Demonstrator located at E4TC. The primary use case is to encrypt energy consumption data, sourced from physical machines on the factory floor, before it is transported securely back to ThingWorx for analysis and monitoring; to improve operations, service and support. Device Authority’s KeyScaler™ platform provides critical security to eliminate the risk of industrial espionage attacks for commercial and economic purposes.

“The Industrial IoT has a huge potential for improving manufacturing efficiencies, productivity and safety, however it is critical that the data is secured from creation to consumption and the devices are authorized. Working with PTC, we can provide a secure solution for smart factories”, said Darron Antill, CEO of Device Authority.

Find PTC and Device Authority at IoT Tech Expo (Booth 208) on January 23rd and 24th to see a variety of real world demonstrations, including a Secure Smart Factory using data from the E4TC machines.

Device Authority is also currently working with the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) in Sheffield to secure a milling machine which utilizes PTC’s Kepware KEPServerEX. Data is retrieved from the milling machine by KEPServerEX and secured using KeyScaler’s policy-driven encryption and active device authentication before sending onto ThingWorx for analysis.

Learn more about securing smart factories at an interactive seminar day at the AMRC on February 2nd alongside PTC and InVMA which will showcase a demonstration and much more. Register for free today.
