Anti-Piracy effort promotes the use of legal software in the European manufacturing industry
FARNBOROUGH, UK – June 12, 2017 – PTC (NASDAQ: PTC) and BSA|The Software Alliance are partnering to combat software piracy and promote the use of legal software in the European manufacturing industry. BSA serves as the world’s premier anti-piracy organization and is a respected leader in shaping public policies that promote technology innovation and drive economic growth.

PTC joined BSA because of its zero tolerance policy on piracy of its software. The BSA represents an invaluable ally in PTC’s efforts to promote innovative policies and establish public/private partnerships in order to effectively protect its intellectual property. The BSA and PTC active partnership integrates PTC anti-piracy enforcement initiatives.
Together, PTC and BSA, will carry out joint activities to promote the use of licensed products among European manufacturers. According to a study published in
The 2016 Global Software Survey from BSA, 39% of software installed on computers around the world in 2015 was not properly licensed, representing a decrease from 43% in BSA’s previous global study in 2013.
