Retail Planning Leaders Converge on New York City for Thinking Retail NYC

Build-A-Bear, Groupe Dynamite, Pandora, Urban Outfitters, RSR, First Insight, Columbus Consulting slated to speak

Following the success of Thinking Retail – London, an event dedicated to merchandise planning practices and solutions, Thinking Retail – NYC has been scheduled for April 28th at the Le Parker Meridien in New York City and will again be hosted by TXT Retail.

Over 150 delegates from 80 companies attended Thinking Retail-London and a capacity crowd is expected for the North American edition of the event as it will offer an exceptional roster of speakers from leading global retailers, brands and industry experts.

Featured retail-industry speakers include Pandora, one of the world’s largest jewelry brands; the lifestyle brand Urban Outfitters; the fast fashion retailer Groupe Dynamite; and Build-A-Bear Workshop, an interactive destination where guests can create personalized furry friends. All speakers will provide insights into their Retail Planning implementations and share lessons learned and best practices on how to win the challenges of unstructured planning and multichannel while sourcing, designing and delivering at the speed of customer demand.

The featured keynote speaker is Brian Kilcourse, Managing Partner at leading retail analyst firm, RSR Research whose presentation – Retail’s Reset Moment – will discuss how the new digitally-enabled consumers are changing what retailers must do to succeed in today’s marketplace.

Additional sessions will include presentations by Merchandise Lifecycle Management leader, TXT Retail and partners First Insight, provider of solutions to incorporate voice of the customer into product design & merchandising, and Columbus Consulting, experts in retail business processes and systems.

“Our research has identified for years that unintegrated planning – disconnected financial, product assortment, forecast & allocation, and supply chain – is a major operational challenge for today’s retailers,” said Brian Kilcourse, Retail Systems Research “The series of Thinking Retail events have proven to be a great forum for merchants to discuss how to achieve an integrated Merchandise Lifecycle Management approach.”

The format of the event includes abundant Q&A sessions and networking opportunities to facilitate sharing and professional development. At the Tech Corner, attendees will be able to view solution demonstrations of TXT Retail 7, which supports Merchandise Lifecycle Management from product design to the customer cart.

“We are delighted to be hosting this 9th edition of Thinking Retail which continues to draw increasing attendance both in Europe and North America. This is the only market event for Merchandising and Planning Professionals to come together, network, hear about Industry trends from experts and discuss practices amongst themselves. With an exceptional line up of speakers, Thinking Retail New York gives all participants the opportunity to discuss and share the challenges and solutions available in the market,” concludes Peter Charness SVP and Chief Marketing Officer at TXT Retail.
