Aptos PLM: Fully connected collection management.
The process of creating and managing your collections is a dance with a thousand moving parts. With so many activities and stakeholders in motion, often at the same time, one missed step can set them spinning in all the wrong directions. All it takes is a fragmented workflow, missing resource or mistimed communication to turn coordination into chaos and scatter your best laid plans.
Aptos Product Lifecycle Management keeps it all moving together—and keeps you in control. It automates and streamlines critical processes for everyone involved in creating and managing your collections: merchandisers and designers, product managers, developers, buyers, sourcing managers and suppliers. The solution extends advanced retail PLM capabilities such as creative design, collection development and sourcing to line planning, merchandise planning and assortment planning. And by fully connecting buying, sourcing and design, you can secure your fabric programs, factory time and transportation earlier in the cycle, reducing costs and improving the entire product lifecycle process.
Improve your PLM performance in six ways
Line planning seamlessly integrates with product development and buying based on the clear communication of collection objectives such as target margins, calendars, number of styles, pricing positioning. The creative and business perspectives are aligned right from the earliest phases, so product developers and buyers can evaluate sourcing alternatives and secure resources earlier in the cycle.
Trend research and fashion design support lets you capture ideas and images “offsite” via mobile devices, add notes, and make them immediately available to the design team. Mood boards and sketches can be created intuitively with familiar tools like Adobe® Illustrator and Photoshop, which are seamlessly integrated into the solution.
Collection development is based on the streamlined management of all data generated by new collections, including technical drawings, colors, size specs, bill of materials, instructions for labeling and packaging, as well as all information used to create sampling and production technical packs. These are generated interactively and centralized into a single repository containing all the collection know-how.
Sourcing and collaboration is enabled by anytime, anywhere, Web-based connections to your suppliers and sub-contractors. The module allows you to track all key information regarding partners such as minimum order quantities, delivery timelines and costs. You can score suppliers’ performance over time and manage online negotiations. Selected suppliers will access from PLM all useful information to start production, with no transfer time and minimized miscommunications.
Environmental and Corporate Social Responsibility lets you publish and make available to your suppliers your codes of conduct, including policies governing environmental protection, human rights and working conditions—as well as related audit calendars. Auditing results can be tracked through the system, and corrective actions can be communicated as needed to uncompliant partners, together with dates for rectification.
Quality Assurance is enabled by the management of quality parameters (quantitative and qualitative) and quality controls. Quality parameters can be grouped by product type (e.g. breathability and non-toxicity for denim) as well as by country, to ensure compliance with local laws and regulations. Quality tests results are shared with individual suppliers for action as needed and contribute to suppliers’ scoring profiles.
