Techtextil North America 2021 to Reunite the Textile Industry Post-Pandemic

As the first major textile event since COVID-19 put the brakes on tradeshows in early 2020, Techtextil North America returns to Raleigh August 23-25, 2021 to reunite the industry for three days of networking, education, and business development.

Diverse Product Groups

Techtextil North America assembles all vertical aspects of the technical textile industry: from research and development, through raw materials and production processes and finally ending in conversion, further treatment, and recycling. At Techtextil North America, visitors will have the opportunity to source the latest innovations and supply chain solutions for the technical textiles and nonwovens industries, and see textile products ranging from high-tech fibers, functional apparel fabrics and smart textiles to composites and nonwovens.

In addition, this year’s event will see expanded product categories through the incorporation of two new pavilions:

Texprocess Americas Pavilion supported by SPESA

The 2021 edition of Techtextil North America will include the first-ever Texprocess Americas pavilion, supported by The Sewn Products Equipment & Suppliers of the Americas (SPESA) – featuring manufacturers and distributors of machinery, equipment, parts, supplies, systems, technology, supply chain solutions, and other products and services used for the development of sewn products – designed to foster new business opportunities and strategic partnerships between exhibitors and attendees. Leaders from across the industry will be given the chance to meet, learn, and see equipment functionality firsthand.

Contracted exhibitors fall into the following categories, with more to come later this summer:

  • Stitching, joining and fastening materials and technology
  • Fabrics/materials
  • Textile finishing
  • Product processing and finishing

In addition to the pavilion, SPESA will once again co-locate its Advancements in Manufacturing Technologies Conference with Techtextil North America in 2021. The conference features presentations and panel discussions from SPESA members about the products they make as well as the challenges they face as they aim to improve efficiency, speed, and accuracy in sewn products manufacturing. Co-locating the Advancements Conference with Techtextil North America allows attendees to make the most of their valuable time and resources by attending two events in one. Conference registration includes access to the show floor, and plenty of time to network with speakers, exhibitors, and attendees.

Textile Care Pavilion powered by The Clean Show

The newly added Textile Care Pavilion, powered by the Clean Show, will showcase the latest products & technologies for the textile care sector – from treatment to finishing to after-market care.

Including the pavilion at Techtextil North America creates a crossover opportunity, and the first of its kind, for companies with textile care products & technologies to meet with those in the technical textile and nonwoven sectors. The result will be new market exposure for companies on either side, with hopes to influence new business relationships and strategic partnerships.

The Textile Care Pavilion aims to include innovative products and services in the following categories:

  • Washing, drying equipment
  • Water technology, utilities, energy saving
  • Green product technology
  • Agents and systems for the cleaning, finishing and disinfection of textiles
  • Logistics and material flow

Expansive Educational Opportunities

Techtextil North America is known for its plethora of educational opportunities. The show’s theme this year is “Accelerating Technology” and thus the education aims to highlight the textile industry’s high level of innovation and contribution to the global supply chain. The Symposium and other educational features will heavily focus on advanced research and technology in end-to-end manufacturing for the textile industry.

The Techtextil North America Symposium

The Techtextil North America Symposium is dedicated to showcasing advancements in research and technology for the textile industry, highlighting the latest trends and innovations, with a focus on sustainable textile practices. Attendees will have the opportunity to expand their expertise and gain a competitive edge throughout seven presentation and panel-style sessions, where industry leaders and subject matter experts will cover the hottest topics around the post-pandemic supply chain, exploring lessons learned, adaptations being made, and future-oriented insights on the industry as a whole. Session content this year will also touch on topics related to the expanded product groups brought by the Texprocess Americas Pavilion and Textile Care Pavilion.

The Academy

The 2021 event will combine Tech Talks and The Lab Sessions into one show floor feature area, The Academy. Throughout the three days, The Academy will feature a lineup of mini-sessions, demonstrations, and panel-style discussions covering groundbreaking technical advancements and highlight the latest in textile testing for applications across industries.

Student Research Poster Program

The Student Research Poster Program has become a must-see show floor attraction at Techtextil North America. Featuring the latest scientific developments in technical textiles and nonwovens, The Program attracts students from across the globe who are involved in both undergraduate and graduate level research and textile innovation.

Participating students will have a platform to share their research findings with peers and potential employers/sponsors on the show floor, and could even be selected to present their research in front of a captive audience during the three days of The Academy.
