Vector Sketch – Creative Design Technology For The Apparel Industry

Revolutionary Design Application Delivered Through The Internet To Help Enhance The Creative Design Process For The Apparel Industry

(MANCHESTER, UK, SEPTEMBER 01, 2010) Vector Vogue Limited has unveiled a new digital software product ‘’Vector Sketch” that enables a team of designers within the apparel industry to quickly and efficiently access thousands of accurate standard design apparel based products and components from one single source available through the internet. Vector Sketch has been developed to work perfectly with Adobe™ Illustrator (the de-facto standard software for apparel design) on either Windows™ or Mac™ and will run seamlessly on any PLM system underpinning your organisations creative processing power.

“We already know that Illustrator is the standard for today’s fashion designers and provides a fast, efficient and accurate drawing package,” said Robert Smith, COO (Chief Operating Officer) at Vector Vogue. “However Vector Sketch will make the design process even faster by providing an ever growing categorised collaborative library of product styles, components and part based features all standardised to a family of predefined Avatars (Silhouettes), giving the designers a great deal more time to apply their creative minds and truly bring their creations to life.”

Vector Sketch will provide a comprehensive library of over 10,000 industrialised standard product style drawings specific to the apparel industry including womenswear, menswear and childrenswear. In addition to the styles Vector Sketch will also allow the designer access to over 4,000 components ranging from garment parts for example: sleeves, collars, pockets, cuffs, fronts, backs, plackets buttons to seam types, washing care labels and specially designed drawing tools to simulate material structures. The Vector Sketch library is constantly evolving with new additions to each category made available on a week by week basis, meaning the user has access not only to the largest style library of its kind, but also the most up-to-date and on trend product shapes.

“This product is really going to be an apparel designer’s best friend. We are streamlining the whole design process and providing the designer with the resources to maximise their true potential. [tagline quote].”

The Vector Sketch software also promises that out-of-the-box, designers will be able to use the technology without the need for training or additional resources. It has an easy to navigate GUI (Graphical User Interface) that means users will be instantly familiar with the tool and be able to find the exact product style they want quickly and efficiently, and with its inbuilt support for the Adobe Suite and generic PLM solutions Vector Sketch will expedite the whole design process. “No more wastage spent trawling through directories or network file stores. Vector Sketch has been designed by “apparel designers” from the ground up with designers in mind, and whatever new style or  component they need, it will be easily available to them through this exciting new solution .”

Vector Sketch will also be one of the first commercial design software distributed as a web service across the Internet. This means it is always on and always available to the user where-ever they may be.

Vector Sketch will be available from Vector Vogue in Q1 2011.
